This prototype train was just up the road from where I went to school, as usual for the UK the funds were pulled just as things were beginning to progress, perhaps in this case due to Professor Laithwaite not being as good at BS as Elon Musk.

Also it might have been a problem that train actually worked, often there is strong dislike for new and viable concepts... :P
