Same thing to me. My signal processing theory professor was asked by some students what they could bring with them at the exams. His answer: Anything that you can drag in by yourself. 70% failed.

It may be a myth, but didn't a student bring Richard Feynman into one of his exams, because he fit (stood) on a single sheet of A4 paper?  (You can bring anything in that fits on a single sheet of A4.)

From what i heard about Feynmans amusing personality it does sound like something he would actually do for a joke.

Even back in the 70's when I was at uni, a story was making the rounds about an undergrad class that was told that any student could bring in ANYTHING to the final exam that he/she could carry.  So one guy carried a post-grad friend in on his back.  The proctors felt stuck and allowed it.  The student passed.
STAND BACK!  I'm going to try SCIENCE!

Id imagine an asterisk about bringing in people was added to that rule next year.

I never heard of any of those stories here, but there was a lot of variability to what you could bring on an exam. From "only a pen" up to "here use this laptop for matlab". If they didn't allow A4 notes then i loaded up my fancy TI Nspire calculator with notes (It could hold a whole text book worth of word document-ish text, while the crappy horrible contrast LCD meant nobody could see it from any sort of distance). They did say i can bring a calculator, so i did.

Suddenly, this should be pushed a bit?

It's going to be more true every year for at least the next decade.  ;)

A lot of these are most excellent :)

Do we have any good product/category comparison memes?  I'm sure we can fuel some good rivalry in ARM v ARM or AVR v 8051.

EDIT: finding original source is hard, this has been reposted quite a bit.

I'd love to be the one to explain what 'thermally reconfigured' means on a test report.
