Just wanted people to know that my brother-in-law, the Kindle aficionado, recommended a utility k2pdfopt.exe
http://www.willus.com/k2pdfopt/ allows you to convert PDF files to read on your Kindle.
The utility will allow you to convert pages, ignore whitespace, clip graphics into separate pages, etc.
I have not used any of the optional settings on the utility. I merely dragged and dropped a datasheet onto the utility, selected NO options and (as magicians say) poof, bang, voila I get a perfectly readable datasheet on my Kindle.
A 48 page PDF from Microchip took about 2 minutes to convert on my 3 year old laptop. The new file is 7 times larger than the original PDF (5 Mb after conversion).
I will try some of the options and let you know if I can get the file size down.
Enjoy
Calibre is better you can find it at.

I use that for my ebook management, but only elib or mobi, etc. I never thought about converting PDF to mobi for the Kindle. I'll have to try that. This is one place where a 10" tablet seems to shine. Just large enough to view datasheet PDFs as full page view.
I have the big Kindle DX and just read PDF's regular-like on it.

I tried the Calibre software on my Kindle. Kindle's require a file with an AVX extension. The Calbre software will only put out a MOBI file which looks horrible on a Kindle.
Oh well, gave it a try.
.azw files are .mobi files. As long as there is no DRM, you can just change the extension. So if .mobi looks horrible, it's because the conversion was horrible.
