Looking at the color I think this is the "Chocolate point" variety.

I always thought Siamese cat is like this: Short hair, big ears and very meowy (hence why some call them siameowsers).

Exactly like these:

That's a "modern" breed with the more extreme features. Mine is the more original type. However; still very talkative.
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

I always wanted a cat and now that I can get one in my own flat, I am thinking about getting one like this (eg the siamese).  What are they like and do they handle flats well? Someone told me they are very aggressive at times... So looking for any experience owning a "chocolate point" cat..

One of the most talented cats in the world is living in Australia.

Didga would be a very nice lab-cat for Dave.  :-DD
Nahhh. I prefer a cat which does natural things like roaming around in the bushes.

What breed of cat that is? I have always troubles distinguishing these dark-coffee ones apart. Is it a siamese, burmese, thai or what?

Siamese - at least that's what the vet sez.  :) She has diabetes and I have to give one "unit" of insulin twice a day but it's under control and I don't notice any symptoms at all.
Nowadays probably classed as 'Thai'.

A Tale of Two Kitties

The cats are referring to the fact that there is a bird feeder just on the other side of the window.

It looks like some accessories are missing or not included with that model, like the rectangular space at the bottom which looks like is for the power adapter (only for the ones with built in rechargeable battery?) and the space at the upper left which looks like is for a mouse intended to be a target?

No manual would have been included - they're all online now in PDF form (feeding instructions, litter box, toy requirements, etc.). Also firmware updates too (no more CDs).

How to create an ER-Bridge:

you need two things: a cat and a buttered toast.

This cat has cleverly positioned itself to ensure that your neck is angled exactly right for optimum viewing through your magnifier.

Him and his sister are quite a bit older now and not quite so nimble since both of them were diagnosed with diabetes within a year of each other. Not through diet, just the genetic roll of the dice. Once we'd got them onto the right insulin dosage, they've been almost as good as new but sadly the time spent diagnosing the problem (mostly our fault for assuming it was just a diet related issue) has meant they're rather less sprightly than they once were. He's still a shoulder cat, but he needs help to get up there. Other than that, their behaviours are just the same, they just eat about twice as much... and what goes in inevitably must come out!

Edit: if you wonder how on earth you administer twice daily injections to a cat, it's a lot easier than I ever thought it would be. A light pinch to the scruff of their neck (where they were picked up as kitties) makes them docile long enough in order to administer the dose.

I have to do the same thing to my cat - insulin twice a day.

She isn't fussy about it. Knows what has to be done and stands next to me at the appropriate time!
