#Rant: Neosid - a company with an ultra fail website!
« on: November 05, 2016, 12:44:05 am »
Rant time this time!

Today, I came across some Neosid helix filter part that I wanted to find a spec for. Google hasn't revealed anything, so I have proceeded to look for it on the manufacturers webpage directly. But fucking hell?! Their website is a nightmare!

Neither their page contains a search engine (please correct me if I am wrong), nor can I contact them, because their web page has the emails encrypted with some f*cking javascript bullshit: The script does nothing in Opera browser and in Firefox, it does not display me the mail address, just wants me to create a f*cking google or yahoo mail account first that I don't have a tiny bit of interest owning.  :bullshit:

But wait, that's not all! Then I have found if you switch the page to English (I understand basic German, so haven't bothered switching the language on the site until that moment) that an extra sentence appears down there: "Looking for sales representative in Sweden. Please contact yilmaz.benzer neosid.de". Whoa la, finally we have one mail! :-+

Then I wanted to copy the mail address to clipboard (beacause the "mailto" link is still encrypted using the nonfunctional javascript crap) and... wait what! The standard blue bar for selecting a part of text is not shown. The page even tampers with such thing, making only the text to change color to blue and guess what, the email address is already printed in blue. That was the last bit that got me really pissed off!  |O

So what do you think about that? I think this is the most terrible web presentation of an electronics company I have come across in the last years (except some Chinese ones).  :'(

Decoding the silly javascript...

Allgemein mailto:info@neosid.de
Vertrieb mailto:sales@neosid.de
Entwicklung mailto:eugen.swoboda@neosid.de
Einkauf mailto:annette.stammwitz@neosid.de
Qualitätssicherung mailto:olaf.schoen@neosid.de

yes the website is not very good.

NB: You can use google to search limited to a site, eg https://www.google.co.nz/?q=site:neosid.de+SM-PIC1004H

Sorry, haven't been in a mood to look for mails in any kind of javascript, so haven't bothered to open the source code at all. But thanks for decoding! I might still tell them to patch their shit up!  >:D
