It is not a coincidence, but I doubt it is some magic AI. After being mentioned, a number of people went and watched that video, so YT made a connection - "a lot of people watching this, also watched that", so let me go and show that video to others. This makes sense, since this is a direct knowledge of what may be interesting to others in the same group.

This happens all the time to me. It is a great way to discover new channels.

But what interested me was that I had earlier today watched Dave build the Gigatron TTL computer on a live stream and he mentioned the RAM stack in the commentary.
Surely it cannot be a coincidence that a video he recorded 7 years ago appears in the recommended videos list.

Spooky, could be related to the Google spying thing always listening to conversations thing people have been thinking about recently.
On the other hand it could just be an amazing coincidence.
It would be interesting to test a live show to see if it works: I think of some topics that should rarely if ever show up at random, write them on some cards and show the live audience, get the live audience to test to see if they have ads related to those topics, and then continually talk about those topics and see if the ads pop up for people during or after the stream.

Actually, I can't see how it could be either, as I just search Youtube for "RAM stack" and was not able to find my video, so it's not searchable.
I'm going with coincidence.
