UK - Southern manufacturing show
« on: February 14, 2013, 12:01:31 am »
Anyone go/going to this? I went today & it was heaving - they had to run buses to distant car parks.
Show was bigger than last year, and also a lot busier. Must be a good sign...

My best find - a company 30 mins from me who can assemble PCBs 1.6m long!

Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

Nonsense - you have obviously not driven in England. You can't drive more than 5 miles in 30 mins - you'll spend the whole time in traffic jams   ;D

Where I am you can drive 5 miles in ten minuets without even speeding. Providing there are no tractors on the road.

I went yesterday. If I had known you were going I would have suggested meeting up for a chat.

Yes, it was very busy and all the exhibitors I talked to were in high spirits on what a good turnout it was. I always find it a useful show, I never know what I'm going to get out of it till I go and always come back with lots of useful info on products and services.

Maybe next year Mike?

Annoying that all the stands I spent time talking to people on were the ones without the nice nibbles - you can sometimes do a complete lunch from foraged freebies, but I feel guilty grabbing sweeties from stands of companies I have no interest in!
One thing I like about that show over others (most of which have died now) is it's a mix of electronics, mechanics and metal-bashing type people, with some cool CNC porn on view - they had the Hypermill cycle helmet on display (not machining one it live unfortunately)
