She haven't uploaded a single video on her youtube channels for over 2 years.
Making YT videos is no small commitment. It could be as simple as not having enough time or having higher priorities.
I have been trying to launch a channel for over a year - I have cameras, audio, lights, editing etc - just cannot sort out the time needed to do it.
She's busy running a startup. I met up with her when I was in SF for Maker Faire.
She's still managing to squeeze in a little hands-on electronics but mostly doing management etc.
I can relate - new and small businesses are all consuming. Wish her the best!

Running and growing CastAR is certainly occupying her time. A lot of people don't realize that producing quality videos is very time consuming. For me, each minute of video represents 10 to 30 minutes (or more) of behind the scenes work (research, materials preparation, document/collateral preparation, design and refinements of on-screen demonstrations, actual shooting of video clips with multiple angles, etc., video editing and rendering, etc.). A 10 minute video typically represents a few hours work (minimum).

Yup!
The likes of Afrotech mods videos take 30+ hours work for a 5 minute video.
You can listen to her talk about how much of a bitch it is to be a CEO/CTO here ->
They have a CEO now and she is just CTO now?
When you have a startup and you've taken millions of other people's money, you are expected to live and breath the company. Zero time for anything else.
CastAR is also her passion, I'd be surprised if she doesn't sleep under her desk.
I miss her quirky videos very much!
It does seem to fall in line with bigger business ventures when the videos stopped.
There was the Valve thing before CastAR.
We never did get to see the outcome of the home made ICs

Follow her on Twitter, you will see what she is up to
She posts there fairly regularly.
But yeah, I think she is up to her neck in the management/startup/business thing.
Tech startups are brutal.
Is she trying to start a new business again?
From Twitter seems like she's playing with Ham radio stuff & holograms at the moment - hopefully taking some time out from all the business stuff from the last few years..

John Simpson (the BBC reporter) had a rule of thumb that after shooting was completed, it took him 1 hour for him to prepare each 1 minute broadcast video.

It would be interesting to ask BigClive (unless he answered already) about his preparation time. Of course, many YouTubers do more polishing and preparation (that's why it would be interesting). Entertainment-wise, his videos are high quality.
One could create an "educational/explanatory" electronics channels with purely 3D animations (I'm sure those exist already). That would definitely take so much more time to prepare than the actual video length. Not just the modeling and animating part, but if you do high resolution and high quality physical material rendering (on not the highest end computers), it could take a day just to get a few frames rendered (or if you super optimize, you might get a frame in up to a few minutes). This would be really interesting to tackle, but requires far more knowledge than I posses. To explain something, you must first understand it really really well. EE students would probably be able to have a good enough level of understanding.
