I'm working on a little PCB to plug in place of a 40 pin DIP IC. I'm
struggling to think of what the header that's used to adapt the PCB
to the socket is called. So I'm having a hard time finding this thing.
I did a visual search of the Mill-Max catalog and came up with the
151-10-640-00-010000. Spec's here:
http://www.mill-max.com/images/products/pdf/053N.PDFThis looks like it will work since it has pins small enough to fit in
a DIP IC socket. So solder one side to the underside of the PCB
and plug the other side into the DIP socket. Done!
Well, not done. No one seems to have any variant of these Mill-Max
parts in stock and the min qty is 50 at Digikey if they did have them
and they cost $17-$20, ouch!
Anyone know of a similar thing made by someone else? Or what this
kind of header thingy is really called so I can go searching for it?
