[BETA TESTERS WANTED] AI PCB debugging assitant

Hi guys,

I’m an electronics engineer who regularly debugs PCB faults, and I’m building YProbe to solve this problem for people like me.

YProbe is intended to guide that process. The user imports the board’s netlist and BOM, describes the symptom, and connects a supported instrument. The software builds an electrical model of the board, suggests measurement points, configures the instrument, analyzes the result, and uses it to select the next test.

I’m looking for electronics engineers or technicians willing to test it on real boards when the beta is ready. Please, write here or join the wait list.

I'm pretty sure Claude code can do this out of the box.

Partially yes, but Claude only covers part of the workflow. And the result still depends heavily on the engineer’s experience in electronics, building prompts and integrations.

For a hobby project, that may be okay. But if time is money, you would prefer a plug-and-play tool rather than spending days experimenting with prompts.

Of course, I’m biased - you can ask Claude itself how much of YProbe it could actually replace.

Thanks, that would be very helpful. PicoScope support will take some time, but Rigol scopes already work well, and Siglent support is on the way.

some questions:

token based ?  monthly based, 24/24 access time, no other constraints ?

what happen on a project created or debugged, is it stored on the Ai account,  can it be recovered / called any time even if we consume all tokens or the monthly subscription,

can it be stored locally, import export features .....

Monthly subscription, not tokens - no API keys, no per-token bills, nothing to configure. No limits on debugging sessions; there's a fair-use ceiling on AI volume, set well above normal bench work.

It is a desktop app - your whole debugging log (measurements, verdicts, hypotheses, rework) stays on your machine. YProbe server does not store anything of your project - only some summary, like what was wrong and how it was fixed, if you wish to share this.
The project file is also stored locally  - you can reopen it any time whatever your subscription is doing.

Hobbyists / makers won't spend $600/year.

Pro EEs won't need it anyway, and I can't see many real-world commercial EEs knocking out 50 new designs a month. And I doubt they'll be using a Rigol.

Not yet. Currently, the main focus is validating the soft with the beta users.

For the start it is small companies, especially startups, and consultants/contractors.

I agree about hobbyists. Some might pay for a month during a bring-up and then cancel, but I don't expect them to be the main market.
But I don’t agree about pro EEs. Yes, YProbe cannot replace experienced engineers, but it can help them delegate debugging to less experienced colleagues or work with someone's design without having to study it first.

50 boards per month is indeed a very high limit - basically unlimited for almost everyone, just to prevent abuse. Maybe only someone in Shenzhen can hit it.

Rigol support came first simply because that's the equipment I had available. Siglent support is already on its way and will be validated shortly.
