 Although it looks cool, I don't see this having the same kind of practical use that other wearable devices offer. Why would you want to walk around with a huge hunk of metal on your pointer finger?

I don't understand the sudden surge of gesture input devices, myself, but I guess some people are pretty excited by it; it's met its funding goal with 33 days to go.

It makes a lot more sense to me if someone with disabilities uses it over someone with a perfectly good pair of hands & arms.  I have a Leap Motion and it is absolute garbage in terms of computer control.  Using it to control a robot arm is a lot more intuitive, though, and works pretty well.
