Our biggest challenge has been completing this wonderful device via 3D printing.

When fully discharged, the LAUPS takes 13hours to recharge completely from typical ambient WIFI and radio sources not more than 20 meters and 100 meters away respectively of combined minimum energy intensities of 50mw per square centimeters.

Ok, so a 20m sphere, an antenna emitting 251 MEGAWatt of energy will have 0,5 milliwatt/square centimeters at the edge. The biggest issue is surely the 3D printing, not the antenna you are standing next to.

Not sure if it helps, but I sent a note to Kickstarter. It's one thing to be optimistic, it's another thing to make shit up from thin air - including energy. He is trying to collect money from people. Even though it will not likely fund, it should be squashed earlier.

i.materialise is a pretty well established 3D printing service, I seriously doubt that they'd find it necessary to resort to something like this to get more traffic. Especially considering that one of the URLs has a typo in it.
