Is this even possible?
Using ham radio frequencies identifying interference from a single plane over the ocean between all the radio traffic over the world?
Or is this someone who manufactured a way to become relevant by manipulating the grieving relatives of the lives lost that day?

While giving a second thought and looking further for details about the methods, it actually seems like it may be a novel and sound method for locating the planes. How efficient or accurate this is, time will tell.

So apparently this has been done at least 2-3 times with good results.

It seems like they're at the stage that they're still validating the approach, and also trying to get interested parties to work with them on validating it as well.   Whether it turns out to be accurate, or something usable is yet to be seen.

I was VERY sceptical about this proposed technique but had never heard of WSPR, despite being a lapsed ham, so looked it up.
I don't think that the Malaysian government will spend anything more on this search (they weren't too enthusiastic to start with), so maybe a global crowd funding appeal to do another week of scans from a professional ship?

Ocean Infinity has announced they will begin a new search for MH370 in 2023.   See the link.  Not sure who is funding it or how sure the funding is.  Sounds like they’re still trying to get a backer.

Not that I know - but WSPR is nothing short of amazing (I wish it was decently documented).
Having recently got my licence, I experimented a bit.
With a self built 0.2 W transmitter on 20 m band and a literal clothes wire antenna, I managed > 8000 km - and this is not even any sort of record.
