Expensive, but not dodgy.
Ultra-low production run, plus costly product finish, plus not-so-cheap components, plus "work of art", plus the "I need this" on top.
If you divide the development costs by the low production number and add the part costs, I bet they don't make a huge amount of money on this.

More expensive "art" just sitting in the dust on the floor. I don't get it.  These men can't be married. The wife wouldn't stand for this mess scattered about the living room. Buy a damn table!
