Alternative to Digi-Key Scheme it
« on: May 01, 2020, 10:28:50 am »
Hello,

I'm using Digi-Key Scheme it to sketch some schematics. www.digikey.com/schemeit

Is there any alternative that is open source and/or offline?
What tool do you use to capture some quick ideas about circuits?

Thanks,

I found sPlan 7 a good solution for schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams for documentation etc etc.
it is not free but the price is acceptable (45 Euro).

Use the same tools you would use for a PCB layout.
Then, you can proceed directly from the schematic to layout and having a board made if you like.

I will check sPlan 7, looks good.

I use Altium and I could use it to capture these ideas but just exploring other options that might be quicker

Thanks for your comments
