Current through Polygons(EAGLE CAD) ??

Hi Guys, Hope you all are fine!!

I have the following questions :-

1)  What is better suited for high currents, Polygons or Traces?
     
2) How do you determine current carrying capacity of a polygon?

Note:-

This question is based on the fact that many of the online tools available as well as books do not provide a calculator or a solution.

Secondly, a lot of experienced guys suggest to consider smallest polygon width and carry out the calculations online.

Through this esteemed column I would request this amazing community to help me get clarity on this topic.
