PCBAtlas: PCB review on iPad, iPhone, and Mac
« on: June 08, 2026, 01:24:02 pm »
PCBAtlas is now available on the App Store. It is a PCB review workbench for iPad, iPhone, and Mac, aimed at the part of the workflow where you need to open board data, inspect details, keep revisions organised, and export review material without scattering everything across screenshots, folders, chat messages, and one-off checklists.

The app is built around a simple loop: import PCB design or manufacturing data, review it in 2D / 3D / Data views, manage revisions in one workspace, and export material that can be sent to a teammate or used in a fab handoff.

## What it covers

- Import and library management for PCB design files and manufacturing data
- 2D inspection with object information, layer visibility, search, locate, and filtering
- Revision management under a single PCB workspace
- Board-level 3D viewing for supported KiCad `.kicad_pcb` board sessions
- Data view with document statistics, status, issue summaries, and Quick Estimate / Revision Quote context
- Export from the 2D view as PNG / PDF, original source packages, and supported converted outputs
- KiCad project and schematic browsing, including search, selection details, and locate-style review context

The main use case is practical board review and handoff: opening real project data, narrowing down what needs attention, keeping multiple revisions together, and producing a shareable review artifact when the discussion moves outside the EDA tool.

It should be useful for PCB designers, hardware engineers, and small teams who regularly review boards before fabrication or need to communicate layout/manufacturing context with people who do not all have the same EDA setup open. iPhone and iPad require iOS/iPadOS 17.0 or later; Mac requires macOS 14 or later.

If you try it on a real project and run into import/export problems, confusing reports, inaccurate object information, or have suggestions based on your normal review workflow, feel free to let us know.

Perhaps the mods will allow this spam since it is on-topic for this forum. IDK.
I note that OP's flag is USA, yet the domain astroformsoftware.com is registered in China.

Why would I want to fiddle with a small screen on a handheld device when I alread have a desk with a comfortable chair, a decent PC and a big monitor?
