GreenPAK SPLD blinky?
« on: December 09, 2023, 08:56:42 am »
I am trying to design  a minimalist 1Hz blinky circuit using a SLG46826G GreenPAK SPLD. OSC0 does support 1HZ using its pre and post dividers but that clock cannot be routed to an output pin. Instead, I had to use a 2Hz clock and a counter that divides it by 2 and passes it to an output pin.  Am I missing something? Is there a simpler 1Hz blinky?

The design files and timing diagram are here https://github.com/zapta/GreenPAKs/tree/main/blinky

Output pin can only be connected to The Matrix. And oscillators have only two of the outputs (green ones) going into The Matrix. The orange ones can only go to the clock input of a counter (and maybe clock input of something else, I didn't read entire datasheet)

So, looks like it's the easiest way to do it.

P.S. All of the above is just my understanding, after reading datasheets and playing a bit with their software.
