Impressive Xilinx device - FPGA, ARM + RF DACs/ADCs
« on: October 25, 2017, 06:14:17 am »
From the Xilinx news:
Quote
    Eight 4GSPS or sixteen 2GSPS 12-bit ADCs
Eight to sixteen 6.4GSPS 14-bit DACs

Integrated SD-FEC cores with LDPC and Turbo codecs for 5G and DOCSIS 3.1
    ARM processing subsystem with Quad-Core Cortex™-A53 and Dual-Core Cortex™-R5s
16nm UltraScale+ programmable logic with integrated Nx100G cores
Up to 930,000 logic cells and over 4,200 DSP slices

I'm pretty sure that it'll cost a gazillion, will be subject to every known export control, will require a PCB from hell, but damn... that's impressive. Depending on the ADC specs you could build an impressive scope/function gen just from that alone.

Those are for communications. Those ADCs may not behave well at DC. And their expected price is $5000-10000/device. So I doubt anyone will build a scope out of this.
