About several confusing SSD status data
« on: September 11, 2021, 12:15:52 pm »
Hi guys.

The SSD in question is a mSATA unit, bought new. It works without problem, but I got 2 strange values viewing using hwinfo:

Number of reported uncorrectable errors: 500+ (steadily increasing from bought)(hwinfo gave warning beyond ~150)
Number of ASR events: 400+ (steadily increasing from bought)

Several no-problem value may help diagnostic:

Lifetime power on resets: 450+
Power on hours: 600+
Resets between command acceptance and completion: 0
Number of hardware resets: 0
Number of interface CRC errors: 0
Logical sectors written: 6 giga+
Logical sectors read: 8.5 giga+
Drive remaining life: 99%

I did lots of search but those 2 mystery values are so poorly documented, and many information are conflicting. Do anyone have a good idea about them?

Thanks!

What's the make/model? How long have you been using it for?

Does doing a read speed benchmark (for the whole drive) show any unusually slow results?

Thank you.
It's ADATA XP0120GFJSL. I have used it for around half a year.
I haven't do a full read speed test yet, maybe I'll report back later.

run smartctl -X
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00101160en_us&docLocale=en_US
there's also a firmware upgrade
in any case, i would no longer trust in it.
asr = you have a cable/controller problem
