Broadcom's VMware
« on: February 12, 2024, 02:26:02 pm »
As expected, the milking of customers has started. Are you using the free ESXi? It's no longer available (https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2107518?lang=en_US). Someone from a service provider with a VMware based platform told that they are paying about US$ 40k per month for licences/support. VMware's new push for VCF licencing would increase that to 270k per month (https://www.borncity.com/blog/2024/02/12/der-fluch-der-neuen-broadcom-vmware-vcf-lizenzierung-in-der-praxis/, in German). Many customers are looking for alternative products right now.
