Why doesn't clicking the magnifying glass work ?

Is it just me , or most internet sites with a search box, you enter your text, either by typing or pasting/etc, but the only way to actually search is by hitting ENTER. Clicking the mag. icon never works, not in youtube, and it seems everywhere I remember is like that. And it bug's me. It's annoying when you don't want to reach the KB

It's not my computer or firefox is it? It can't be, but how can all these sites have the same problem ? And if u don't think it's a problem, u must never be out of arm's range from your KB

Just tried from within the Youtube website. Mouse clicking the search magnifying glass, works just fine for me.

I've noticed this for what seems like 2 years, and never asked anyone. I don't get it tho, I'm on an all new system, but with win10 and firefox still

Clicking the search icon is something I almost never do. If I'm typing something in the search box it's easier to just hit enter when I'm done rather than reaching for the mouse, aiming, and clicking. However, I just checked on youtube with both Firefox and Pale Moon and clicking worked fine.

I typically type my queries into the box so it's difficult to be away from the keyboard. However, it does appear to work for me so I'm not sure it's true anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's true, because I seem to remember having the same problem, sometimes (but rarely). Not sure why, but suspect Google (and the changes they sometimes make).
