I've finally joined the Fluke 87V club, brand new for $300! Not a bad deal at all in Australia.
I also picked up a Hakko FX-100 for the same price, but it doesn't include a tip so I can't play around with it for a while. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the JBC, gotta see if the RF heating system is all that it's cracked up to be.
I took a quick peek inside the FX-100, the transformer has 220/230/240 taps, so unfortunately we won't be able to use an imported 100/110V model without a step down. Hakko are usually pretty expensive for 230V models, so that's a shame. Suncon and Nichicon caps inside, didn't have the macro lens on me so no teardown photos just yet, I will post some when I do a mini-review.
