To be fair, watching your video, 19 seconds is enough to tell what the video is going to be about.
It's likely that Dave wasn't interested in the type of video that you made.
There's that, too.

Welcome to the real world where complaining does not help your case.
A: This whole thing is based on generosity from Dave.
B: It is purely subjective
C: No one owes you anything regardless of how much effort you put in.
D: Use that energy to put up some content that captures an audience
E: If you want a channel - it requires constantly doing what you did. Over and over. Only each video is better than the last.
It is far harder than it looks right? Move on. Learn something. Do better tomorrow.
Wow..... that was a crazy response.
This whole thing is Dave's sandbox that we all play in. His channel, forum, and rules.
What does he 'need' from you? Nothing. What do you need from him? Apparently a whole lot.
Dave has been reasonable and fair in the way he conducts his business which explains the huge audience. You are not being reasonable in any way.
Make your own sandbox and invite 500,000 people to come play.
Short and misplld from my mobile......
Dave is making content with very less effort. Nearly no cutting and talking on the fly. It's like 2 times overhead I think. SURE some videos are much more effort but in average there are not.
As he told he is not good in production of content Bevorhand. So he needs us! He can be happy that there was so much response!
Wow..... that was a crazy response.
Sure I would profit much more then him but this is how a win win Situation ist working.
And when I calculate my effort the video would cost him around 3000 to 5000€ ;-)
I'd say Dave got a bigger response that he was expecting, it originally started out as 1 or 2 and ended up with 12. With Christmas being a busy time I could imagine it being hard to get back to everyone.
It took me one year, 22 videos and maybe 10 live streams and a huge amount of hustling (posting to twitter/reddit/instructables) to gain 1k subs and Karl has gained more than that in less than 24 hours (which I'm honestly delighted about, I can only imagine how he's feeling this today!)
For what it's worth pknoe3lh, I thought your video was good and well made but is probably more similar to what you would see somewhere like greatscott rather than the eevblog. Another thing that may have went against you is other than the scope video (which was 5 months ago) your last video was 11 months ago (at time of review) so your channel wasn't very active at time of review. If you enjoy doing the videos stick at it!
My wife is angry ... I spend a big part of our Holidays on it

Be a man and mark your territory. This and the rest of your posts shows you are thin skinned.
OK looks like I'm the troll here
I'm sorry! I was angry about the quick judgment. And I understand that I was wrong to complain.
At least he watched it. Its his channel, his rules, his game!
And I understand the more you argument the more it can escalate.
And he has this experience and learned his lessen as he told before!
Don't feed the trolls (me)
I like Dave!I watched nearly every video started at #300 I think!
He is quit an personality and has quit some expertise!
I don't want to make a big conflict here!
Its just my personal opinion that more communication would be very important.
And the least what I would personally expect is an short answer (even an generic one).
"Thanks for you entry. There where to many entries this year. Maybe try it next year ...."
Or am I really wrong on this one too?
There where even so little information that I was thinking he maybe picked my video and I just don't know it
As for the issue of communication - as it has been said, Dave has finite resources. If there were 1,000 submissions and Dave passed on 950 of them, then providing 950 personalised messages would mean an inordinate and impractical amount of work. Even if it were only 100 submissions with 70 not selected, that's still a lot of messages.
I like the first one
I'd say Dave got a bigger response that he was expecting, it originally started out as 1 or 2 and ended up with 12. With Christmas being a busy time I could imagine it being hard to get back to everyone. Ideally it would have been good to get some form of a message back, but might have been hard to do as maybe a final decision wasn't made after watching it first (or just getting an idea of what it was). I think in general Dave is generous with his time (has reviewed some channels in the other blog section, and in my very limited experience replied back to any email I have sent him) so I definitely wouldn't hold it against him.
Did you know that our video was chosen?
Congratulation!!!!!! I wish you a big gain in subscribers

And also @Brumby
Sure!
I'm not looking for en explanation. I think my video can not competition with others in a lot of aspects!
As I told I'm not complaining about that. I'm angry sure! How would not be. Just Expressing my feelings

Sorry I didn't reply, entirely my fault
I don't recall exactly, but I think I got distracted watching your video and forgot to return to it and hence reply.
I remember thinking it was going to go on the under consideration list, it's not like I didn't like it and it wasn't worthy, I simply got distracted and goofed it.
I think you are wrong. It is only 12 days. Not an uncommon amount of time without new content for his channel. Besides that his content and overall quality is great. He will not lose subscribers for 12 days without a video.
A lot of views are probably not from subscribes so there is a big chance they do not even notice that he has not made new video's in 12 days.
I watched him from the first video but subscribed something like 2 years ago.
The risk for Dave is that people do not like the content and cancel their subscription to Daves channel. And he can mis potential new subscribers who do not know about this situation.
Is it just me or anyone else had noticed, it appears that the last couple of guest videos were not included in the EEVBlog specific section on the forum?
