Fedex dropped the HP333A today and after a quick cabinet cleaning, I just couldn't wait to plug it in. Injected an 800hz 1v sine wave and it looks like everything is working as it should albeit it does appear that it needs switch cleaning.

Did they drop it right in front of you? :)

If they did, they probably made it better....LOL

Seriously, the Fedex driver that works the neighborhood used to live next door so I know that he takes care of the stuff for me.

TM504 with a PS503A and DM501A. PS503 seems to be OK but the DM501 is acting a little flaky, meaning it needs a LOT of internal switch cleaning. But we can handle that ...  :)

Found this Yokogawa WT110 from eBay (sellers pictures) and seller accepted my second offer. Looks clean and well maintained considering these have been discontinued since year 2000. There is no calibration sticker (even remains of it) though. I wonder if there has been any sticker when leaving the factory?

By the data sheet calibration is possible by the user, haven’t read the 204 page manual yet. At least voltage zero point seems to need some adjustment.

Next I have to make some adapter like this (https://asset.conrad.com/media10/isa/160267/c1/-/de/1427417_RB_00_FB/rohde-schwarz-hzc815-eu-rohde-schwarz-hzc815-eu-netzadapter-fuer-rshmc8015-leistungsmessgeraet-eu-anschluss-3593885202.jpg?x=520&y=520) for connecting device under test.

There are programs (for both RS232 and GP-IB interface, mine has RS232) available on Yokogawa site for configuring the WT110 and recording measured values. Program is suitable only for Win 98 to Win XP, probably have to use my old ThinkPad x61.

Now the meter is just about to leave Italy..  :)

A solution for one of the 2 empty slots has already been implemented via an empty slot filler-provider (Ebay).

A few laptops for free. Including the chargers, those are not in the pic.

A pile of portables that's not portable?  :-DD

The pile is SLOWLY portable. With a few rests during the process.

Currently being sorted into three piles: Good, minor problems so keep intact, and seriously broken so part out.

The bulk of them are 6 different models, all Lenovo. My favorite of the types is the Lenovo Ideapad S10e. Neat little notepad, see pic. That one in the pic is a bit worn, some are trashed, others look new.

I have no idea what I'll use nearly 200 laptops for. Maybe 50 in top condition. It was sort of an accident, as I'd been expecting to pick up a quantity of all-same desktop systems, for which I do have a purpose in mind. But those are not quite ready for disposal. Anyway, there I was yesterday, and these laptops were to go.

Unfortunately they can't be sold. But I will be giving some away. Well, a lot really, if I can find anyone interested. But first they have to be wiped.

Hmm, that leaves 150 panels of bright light. Did you say you needed a video studio, hydroponic garden, solar simulator, mega light table, or perhaps a video wall?

Can you trade them for other stuff? Donate them to to the needy or a charitable organization? Have a contest to give some away?

Cute cat btw :)

A Tektronix 576 curve tracer, to accompany my 577. Either they will soon be carcasses, or something interesting will happen.

Prices have recently been on the raise again, so I am not sure if 475USD is a bargain...saw one go for 299 some time ago, but nowadays most of them are much more pricey.

All good ideas and in the running. But thinking about that now would be getting way ahead of myself. First the sorting and stuff. Where 'stuff' includes a strong incentive to buy the nlite Win7 version. Which I'd have to do anyway, when those desktop machines do become available.

There's a local Men's Shed that I've been meaning to go visit. Maybe I can swap laptops for TIG welding tuition, or something like that.

Sigh. Pushing this laptops deluge onto the projects stack makes an already too-deep projects queue even more ridiculous.

$20 each and half a can of DeOxit D5 later and voila! 2 working DP 8200 voltage/current standards!

Also picked up a non-functioning but cosmetically excellent Tek 475 scope for $35.

NICE!

Amazing how much the price of things are when there are dirty controls.

I just got my first scope. It's a Leader LBO-522 2 Channel analog scope for $56. It was really a good bargain!
