Two 50GSa/s ADCs @ 12 bits? 8 channels with 10GHz front ends?
Definitely!
64 logic channels?
Ehh, impressive, but not
that mindblowing (compared to the analog channels at least) if you consider that a 10Gbps network adapter is similar. But there's 64 of them, so, still counts.
FHD 15.6" screen?
Okay, now you're off the mark, every iPad has a much better screen.
That probably changes nothing about the price, at this level.
The Tek name?
That's more like it.
Are they using BNCs for 10GHz inputs?
Keysight has a refurbished 63GHz 160 GSa/S 4-channel for $520k. It also comes with a 1 year warranty

... and it is 15% off!
Plus it's "Make an Offer" offer a cool half a million and see if they accept it.
... used/bid items sites, so we can get a hold on some WinXP GHz scope at 1/100x the price, even for not so long. we are willing to trade with blood in order to make (fix) it works for as long as it can get to work.
Yes. That's the only way I can afford it.
This can go >1M I believe.
How much for a four channel version?
One of the big reasons why Tek isn't on benches.
Tek is certainly on some benches, although their new stuff isn't likely to be found on mine anytime soon unless I win a lottery. But can you match the specs of the TIVP1 anywhere else at a lower price? If that's what you need then you have to pay up.
unless I win a lottery
if i win 1m lottery i'll stop doing anything. maybe sometime with my rigol ds1054z during boring time. if my ds1054z break, i can buy another one.
Plenty of examples of people winning a lottery who quit their work, blew all the money and ended broken.
I sell my own design cheapo USB scopes for £30 !
Not bad for 20 mega samples with analogue display and spectrum analyser.
Good enough for basic audio work.
At work they rented one of those Keysight boxes for a few weeks to measure some high speed differential signaling (don't know what, wasn't my project). A front view picture doesn't give you the perspective of how enormous these things are. The side view shows the gazillion fans these things have. And you'd better have the right adapters/probes or all you can do is stare at it. This box has nothing to do with regular scope probes.
...blew all the money and ended broken.
dont blew all of it then... just what is enough for your daily consumption.. thats the problem with people with lottery mentality, they think they are God anointed one that will get another second chance... greed... (i dont actually put my chance on lottery. that is just... IF)

Money is very dangerous if given to the wrong person. It can be as dangerous as poison if they don't know how to handle it properly.

And there is a significant overlap between people that don't know how to properly handle money and people that play lottery.

I don't really see what that has to do with this thread. 20MS/s is a toy, a nearly 30 year old TDS320 can do 500MS/s. So yes, it's cheap, but you get what you pay for.

nigelwright7557 likes to promote random crap he sells. He used to shit on KiCAD, but I guess sales of whatever random PCB design software plummeted, so now it is scopes with decade old characteristics.
Dave finds more expensive oscilloscopes than that in his dumpster:
Ever since I saw that video, every April first I scour the dumpsters in my city, but I have yet to be that lucky!

True. I can keep it safe for you, and to protect you I promise you'll never get it back.

Oh no, I wouldn't want to take the risk of you dying because I gave you money.
A few years ago I took a crack at making a demonstration of LeCroy's DBI (Digital Bandwidth Interleaving) based on their patents. Roger Delbue from LeCroy chimed in.
It starts at about 6 minutes in. I'm not a good teacher so if you get lost, check the first comment.
