ive opened up a water pump on my prochem industrial carpet cleaner. the bridge rectifier has gone on the pcb and im struggling to find the rectifier from the numbers written on it which are DT816 ADB608.these motors are commonly sold as 12v units so based on that im guessing this motor has 230vacinputthen converts its own 12vdc from the bridge rectifier? its rated at 0.35amps this motor.
also their is another component, silver with numbers 16P-1291 and its a2pin thru hole component.
can anyone help identify this bridge rectifier and where to get one or what i can replace it with if something different?
It's not converting to 12VDC - this is a 230V motor.
How sure are you it's the rectifier which has gone?
Can you high light the "silver thing".
It's the little bimetallic switch. They don't go wrong much.
yes because I blew the thing by shorting two of the pins like and idiot and a big blueflash and pop GONE. it was originaly just needing new brushes... well if its an ac motor whats the pcd within the motor casr with this bridge rectifier doing?

Ferrites. The brushes make for a lot of electrical noise, they're there (along with the capacitors) to suppress this.
can you help me find these two capacitors also. the numbers on each are.
MDC Z321 45 IIL and its the yellow disc through hole capacitor on this board.
440~X1 WYO 2N2 M 250~Y2 their are two of these and their blue disc type through hole capacitors on this board..

These are 2.2nF X1 and Y2 rated ceramics.
You probably don't need to touch those.
The bimetallic switch in the back of shurflo pumps is used for thermal protection. All the 12 and 24v ones I've worked on had it.

It's not an AC motor. It's a 230VDC permanent magnet motor, with a bridge rectifier to convert the AC mains to DC and a few inductors and capacitors to suppress and radio frequency interference. These are quite common in small mains appliances, which need to run at a constant speed. Dyson vacuum cleaners, use a similar type of motor to drive the carpet brush. A similar type of motor is used in battery operated tools and toys, but with fewer windings, made of thicker copper, given the same power rating
The motor's case should be earthed, unless the whole thing is in a plastic case, with a non-conductive drive system.
Look at the back of the motor, with the brushes removed. You should be able to see two 'U' shaped magnets, fixed to the metal case, at either side of the windings.
probably not, but with so few components I figured for the sake of a few pennies I would order all the components just incase as I really need this prochem cleaner back up and running.
