G'day -
Is that well tip on the Hakko or the Pace? Which number is it?
Cheers.
Does anyone know?
The Internet knows all. I'm sure if you searched the Hakko and Pace company web sites for replacement tips you would find what you seek.
Just as an FYI I've been there and done that with Hakko, and found "well tips are not available for Hakko irons in the USA". I assume there is some kind of patent issue surrounding them. My guess is that some other company has the monopoly on them.
Thanks guys I did take a look a the Hakko site but somehow missed it.
Well, actually the CM/BCM tips (well-type) don't seem to be available for the FX-888 (T18 tips). They are available, however, for the FX-950 (T12/T15 tips). Bad news is that the T12/T15 tips are nothing like the T18 and wouldn't fit the FX-888.
Cheers,
Alex
I have been doing some searching my self for what type of tip Dave was using in this episode and I really don't think the well hakko types BCM are it. When he puts it at the camera I believe you could see an actual hole in the tip, not just a concave surface.
Here are all the names that different solder iron companies use that could be what he is using that I could find doing some research online. Again I dont think the BCM is what he is using.
bucket, flow, spoon, bevel with indent or Shape BCM/CM from Hakko.
T18-D24 is a chisel tip with a 2.4mm diameter. This looks like it could be it.
