C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !
to you both ...
er .. to the three of you.....
I can't believe you managed to get through the whole video while keeping a straight face. And the jokes, even cornier than usual. Downright painful.
But seriously, congratulations! Definitely an adequate excuse for not posting. Consider me signed up for a subscription.
Oops
A little non RoHS in the 'pencil' i suspect!.
Well done to get a prototye commissioned.
Have got my own second prototype at 10 weeks after assembly.
First proto. has reached 6 years and is currently being sent off for extensive daily programming.
Congrats. Dave
ps Thats the end of any free time for you.
unlessssss you can get the little one interested in a 'suitable hobby' down the track (excuse to get back to the lab).
Congratulation Dave!!!
Too bad the Youtube preview picture gave it away or you would have had us

Youtube sucks.
I was stuck with the image it chose until the other one takes a few days to propagate.
Dave.

Dave.
I'm lucky my ISP is so bad that I have to RSS/podcatch any of this stuff. So I got the surprise.
Oh, and yeah, +1 youtube sucks.
I am guessing this is the reason for the slowdown in output - perfectly understandable if so.
These things take a lot of work but may with any luck be a future assistant - good for four-handed projects.
I'll add my congratulations as well.
Also - great naming strategy!

I was surprised because I watched it on you tube and I couldn't tell what you were holding from the thumbnail.
Although as soon as you mentioned a lead free process I got suspicious as you mentioned in another video that lead free solder is crap
Congratulations Dave! That video completely had me until Sagan actually appeared. All the best for the future!
Congratulations! More work up ahead.
Congrats Dave, I wonder if you will raise Sagan as your own and have him be the next Dave 2.0!
Congratulations Dave from me too.
Screw you dave you had me going for the first minute >.>
Congrats

Yes, that's the main reason.
And now I've just started work on my new consulting gig (from home), so that's probably a few full days per weeks.
Dave.
Congratulations! And great video
I got delivery of my in March but still in the workshop for tweaking so to speak. Anyway it's great fun!
Congratulations Dave!
Are there more prototypes to come?
Cheers from Germany,
Florian
"The most advanced project an engineer would ever make is another engineer."
Well done Dave !
Congratulations from Germany .
It started as a random doodle in DaveCAD . . .
The pyjama is really cute - is it's design wife-approved ?
If yes - how about making some of your own design - the new Sagan collection designed in DaveCAD with little Flux-Capacitors and 555s on it ?
That video was unexpected. I thought you built a parallel processor with neural net nodes like Thinking Machine Connection Machine One. Parenting is a life long project. I have not tried it myself. Congratulations for your new family. It is joyous video that I have viewed here for awhile.
Lawsen
Congratulations.
Regarding the comment: "we've got it covered" (in reference to advice from the visiting CEOs). I used to be an expert in debugging those things: then I made some of my own and discovered the programming interface isn't consistent. (Sleep mode isn't the only thing that's random!). As with all such projects, sometimes you have to throw out the manual and seek experienced advice. I also discovered that the development cycle is really a lifetime commitment, but it will take you about 8 years to get the programming up to a beta-test level so you can start using them more than tinkering with them. Unfortunately after ~15 years your knowledge will become obsolete. There's a feedback mechanism to let you know when this occurs.
Oh, BTW: they are self-replicating. The second-gen models are even better because the factory is responsible for maintenance. All you have to do is enjoy the heck out of them.
Oh my god he reproduced... Well be up to our armpits in Australian nerds before you know it.
Congratulations... You know of course this project will break your heart and cost a lot of time money and tears.
Unfortunately in these type of projects errors in the source code are only magnified as the project develops. Good luck.
