I see the "watched" text next to my posts.
This just feels bad.
What is this about?
How did I achieve this wonderful status?
How long am I going to be watched?
How do I stop being "watched?"
What are you talking about? Can you add a screenshot or something?
The only thing I see even close to this is "ataradov and 1 Guest are viewing this topic.", which is obvious.

See the red boxed text at the bottom
I have a very faint recollection of seeing this "watched" under the pic/name status in a thread. If I recall (and It may not be accurate), a mod can use that if their is a potential for someone to be a spammer or something like that. Hey, anyways, you're posting links to your youtube videos, you want people to be encouraged to watch.
Except in that thread, where it was c&p in the thread for illustration, I have never seen it.
I do see text under ataradov's pic that says "Card this guy before serving"
, under mine it just says "Disregard".
So, I guess, I just go about my business.
Maybe it was because of my first posts which overtly promoted my YouTube channel.
I am not, no will I ever be, looking to do *anything* but help people through whatever video I post on my YouTube channel.
I share what I share there because I think there are folks out there that will benefit by it.
Anyway ... continuing on.
We have a lot of people show up and register just to start posting spam, so I think if a new user signs up and does something suspicious like post a link, they are on a probation of sorts until it is clear they are an actual person wanting to participate and not just spam the forum. So just do your thing and I'd expect that status to go away.
Aaaaah! Yes, I want to participate, but being new to this whole forum thing, I am not sure how I am going to do so.
Afraid of huge gluts of posts to look at.
Maybe the idea is to skim and pick something that pops out(
)
Pick a time of day to make this stop and see what is happening(
)
Dunno.
How do other folks do this thing?
I view it much like hanging out at a pub, I tend to browse at idle moments and see if anything is going on. It's best to just focus on new stuff, try not to dredge up ancient threads that have been dormant for years by replying to them.
This is interesting. I guess this is shown to mods and a person affected. And the later is strange. Why would you inform potential spammers?
There was a contributor on this forum who did nothing but made great posts. For some reason he got that 'watched' status, he took offense and left the forum. Rightly so, i think.

If I could go back in time, I would tell my pre-forum self to take to heart this famous quote of Marcus Aurelius:
“Begin each day by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill-will, and selfishness – all of them due to the offenders’ ignorance of what is good or evil. But for my part I have long perceived the nature of good and its nobility, the nature of evil and its meanness, and also the nature of the culprit himself, who is my brother (not in the physical sense, but as a fellow creature similarly endowed with reason and a share of the divine); therefore none of those things can injure me, for nobody can implicate me in what is degrading. Neither can I be angry with my brother or fall foul of him; for he and I were born to work together, like a man’s two hands, feet or eyelids, or the upper and lower rows of his teeth. To obstruct each other is against Nature’s law – and what is irritation or aversion but a form of obstruction.”
Ahh, who am I kidding? - I'm really not that good of a person.

I'm visiting this forum almost daily, for years, and never seen that green sign before.
If I were you, I'd send a personal message to kindly ask a moderator/admin why I am being "Watched". You can find them in the "Members" area, searching for members by position. From memory, Halcyon, Simon or EEVblog.
Done. I couldn't find a way to do this until you told me.
Learning....
Seems as though your first 3 posts were video links, so seemed a bit sus.
I have removed the watch.

I'm jealous. What do I have to do to get that?
