Dust covers for BNC, N, SMA, D25, D9, etc connectors are common and cheap, and most gear in my lab has protectors on any connectors that are not commonly used.
Logic Analyzers on the other hand... The Tek TLA series mostly use 34 pin headers for probe connectors. The pic is what happens to these ports when the machine is left running with open sockets, in a sea-side location. (An old TLA715 given to me a while ago by a friend, who lives in Manly.)
Apart from trying to work out the best way to remove salt corrosion from *lots* of recessed pins, this reminds me that my other LA's have all the probe ports unprotected too. I'd like to fix that.
When I search for 'dust cap 34-pin' in the usual places, I find nothing.
Does anyone know where I could buy such things? Basically a silicone rubber or plastic cap that press-fits into the slot.
If not, I guess that's another thing to add to my 3D printing todo list.
Mating IDC plug, assembled with a stitched loop of ribbon through the strain relief for easy removal?
