Hey Guys,
Below a PIC of a broken 4K TV, it has some horizontal stripes (top to bottom).
Anybody a clue what the probem
might be? Any change of a quick fix
or is this a a typical
stay-away-project ?
That photo's a bit on the tiny side, and... Any chance you could take one with a solid white background?
Yeah, quick fix by replacing a whole LCD panel as it is mechanically broken.
LCD impact damaged, it's a stay away project.
It's possible - just possible - that you might just have some bad solder joins on the PCB, and a wave of a hot-air gun over them will fix it. But that's a long shot - the chances of it working are a thousand to one. You can give it a try, but more realistically it's all but certain that the entire LCD will need replacing. Good luck finding one of the exact same type.
Connections (they are very fine-pitch) between LCD glass and driver ICs have failed. Maybe a bit of pressure and heat may fix them, but it's unlikely to last.

If you look below the stripes on the top part, there are obvious cracks in the glass along the whole screen.
a 4K TV is likely still under warranty, you should use it to repair this problem.
of course if the lcd is broken, the warranty will not work...
Thank you all.
It was for sale, bad pictures. Wasn't sure what to look for, thought
maybe just something with the display driver.
With the comments here, a walk-away project. Case closed
Thanks for the feedback!
you can clearly see whole left edge is cracked
