Simple, these kind of companies sole purpose are to make quick & easy money, and will abandon ship if business is showing any slightest sign that it won't generating easy money anymore. For sure they don't care shit about reputation. Oh yeah, by only sitting down alone (not designing yet

) eats up resources like time & money and etc, let alone the designing job.
Expecting them to make something decent, unique and original from zero ? Forget about it.
Sometimes
something more original just won't be received well, so they'd rather be sticking to something familiar, tried-and-true instead. (E.g. Hakko 936 and all its clones...)
Why?! Why can't these manufacturers just sit down and design something more original, instead of trying to sell them like the "real thing"?
Would you buy one if it would be purple with "kello kitty" designed keys?

I know some female techs who would and this one guy but that dude is heavily into My Little Pony too. We sort of let him alone and he does his thing.

Come on, yes?
Hyping touchscreens when people want knobs?
Passing a 60 mm (that is 2 3/8 inch) brick of as a tablet?
Talking about a 10.1 inch tablet while the brick is actually 13.6 inch?
Calling that handheld?
Claiming isolation, but showing the bare naked metal BNC connectors?
Not willing to talk about prices?
Not willing to talk about availability?
Not even a demo video?
No apparent probe compensation output?
In fact only showing what could well be a mock-up and rendered images?
In my book that tbook thing is that close ---><--- to look like a marketing stunt or even a scam.
And the second thing is you should overcome that believe that new equals better.

There's a wide gap between "something more original" as "completely reinvent oscilloscope interface", and "something more original" as "don't directly rip off the
Fluke 189".
Not much of a problem for Fluke anyway. Whoever buys this meter would never have acquired a Fluke in the first place. And anybody looking for a Fluke 189 should be savvy enough not to confuse the two. Imitation is the best form of flattery.
That said, at $360, this meter isn't cheap and hopefully, has been built to a higher standard than what Victor is used to, but I'm not all that confident.
It is not even that close to the real thing. Looks more like a mish/mash of the 189 and the 289...
inside pictures? maybe the screen layout?
Well i have one of those.. Needed a second meter to supplement my now dead SOAR4050B, so I just wanted a some thing cheap that wouldnt blow up in my face.
the one I have is a rebadged Batronix 280 something.. It's bit of a dog.. very slow at updating and continuous measurement is slow too, a good second before some thing goes beep.
Just have a look at the probes they've included. Says enough for me...
Think you'd be better off with an entry level real Fluke.
Batronix 280 something
Batronix already dropped this model, Uni-T as follw-up.

Nothing of the sort. It was displayed and demoed at a Hong Kong trade show, and even won an award.
Based on Brymen internals pictures posted in another thread on this forum, I have withdrawn my
advice for this brand as an alternative. It seems to have decent input protection, but in my opinion,
board layout and construction is nowhere near Fluke level.

http://www.batronix.com/shop/multimeter/multimeter-bxm280.htmlproudly states that the continuity test is "fast reaction time below 0.5 seconds!".
How about pictures of the inside?

What are you talking about? The meter being discussed here? Another meter? Just all meters compared to Fluke?
It's just a fluke, that it looks like a Fluke.

Supplement from szzotek.com
Beside digging a necro tread, these two meters are quiet different.

Agree. They look totally different. Different model number, different markings, different things on the dial, different color, different proportions, the Fluke looks physically bigger...
I don't see how anybody could confuse the two. -//
