Hello at all!
I live in Italy, and i am a huge fan of Dave!
I am here to ask about multimeter, I want to buy a pretty good multimeter for electronics works, and i was thinking about Gossen Metrohit tech or the fluke 87V , i don' t know which choose, because the Gossen have a capacitance test end at 1000 Uf and somethimes I need to check capacitors of 9800, mostly i work on stereo amplifiers, breadboard projects, and repair electronic things
Have a good day!
Ps (Sorry for my english)
If you have the money then get the Gossen.
I have several Fluke and Gossen DMMs.
Both are very good manufacturers/brands and you most likely cannot go wrong, if you have the money.
But in my opinion Gossen is unfortunately more overpriced than Fluke.
And especially Gossen accessories are just insanely overpriced, which is not to justify at all.

I have cheked some of optional of the Gossen... and yeah is insane, but i have heard the fluke 87V have some GSM problems

Apparently they're fixed:
For capacitor checking a Peak ESR70 or DER 5000 would be better, have you considered Brymen 867 or 869 ?

Perfect, the only think is the Gossen is SLIGHTLY more accurated than fluke, and the capacitor mesuraments...i think the fluke 87V is better for me, the METRO TECH and the 87V is the same think more less, but the Metro is more cooler, but i still prefer fluke, I cant' t go wrong witch one of these, but i am confused

Can you explain why?
Because they're awesome.
And you said, "mostly i work on stereo amplifiers"
The Gossen has TRMS up to 100kHz, the Fluke only goes to 20kHz. The Gossen can measure power, distortion and all sorts of other things that the Fluke can't.

What?? I have read 200Khz for the fluke...

And i can mesury the W only if u have the GOSSEN ENERGY i want to take the TECH

The Fluke can measure frequency (ie. Hz) up to 200kHz, not RMS voltage.

Hm...BAD for me..the tech is better than the Fluke in all the mesuraments...yes for slightly but better..and have trms up to 200kHz... and before the post will be closed..the tech is affidable, accurated..to work in a electronics lab no?
There both good quality meters, so it would probably come down to the features you can afford with your budget.
As I understand it Fluke's can be much more expensive in markets other than U.S.
Hi

The capacitance test on DMMs are pretty poor, they use the time to charge cap method which is not that accurate.
Treat the capacitor measurement feature as an indication only.
For capacitor checking a Peak ESR70 or DER 5000 would be better,
This is an LCR bridge type device, so is much better for checking capacitors. Personally, I would go for brands like Keysight (HP), Wayne Kerr or Racal for a LCR bridge.
One advantage with the Gossen is the single current input with autoranging, there is no risk of blowing the 400mA fuse.

Also: You can't turn the dial to (eg) the 'volts' range with the cable connected to the amps connector.
(Yes, the Fluke is
supposed to beep at you, but the Gossen physically prevents it)
Both multimeters are excellent . It s a personal decision to choose one of them . Fluke accessoires are not that much cheaper than the gossen . You also can look for Hioki multimeter if available in your contry
Both multimeters are excellent .
And neither is perfect.
eg. The Fluke defaults to AC measurements every time you switch it on. That would drive me insane*.
Also: It might be better to get separate, specialized instruments for measuring (eg.) capacitance if that's important.
(*) Especially since the Fluke allows you to configure all sorts of power-on options (including one which is
only used for factory testing!) but not AC/DC mode.
Yes that s right . No multimeter is perfect , every one has it s pros and cons

I Have already a Hioki ^^

For know my decision is to get the METRAHIT TECH it seems to be better than Fluke
