Hey guys! I am knew to this forum and relatively new to electrical engineering. I was looking to purchase a variable power supply for my home. The input would be 120 VAC. My budget is around $100 I would prefer there to be a current control knob as well. I live in Canada but would be willing to purchase something from US. What would you all recommend as a good quality power supply.
Thanks
What output voltage/current range are you after??
I would like 0-20 V and 0-4A.

Would you be willing to purchase a used unit?
It's possible to get a lot more power supply for the money this way, such as a triple output unit that meets your specs. Worth checking into IMHO.
What´s about the Korad 3005D?
No fiddling with course and fine adjustments...
Current adjustment in 1 milliamp steps.

Note: The failure in the following review only occurred with 230V mains.
Amazon reports some issues with the power switch in the past.
I can´t confirm that. Perhaps I have a newer version.

BTW: The Korad 3005D is in Germany priced with 79.90 € (around 110 US-$).
Amazon is not the cheapest source, probably. Google in your region for the PSU.

That korad sure is a nice one, that's tempting to get but when I get a new one a dual variable output one would be great.
