The PSU I have works the same way, you can only adjust contrast after power on with the arrow keys. Which makes sense, if the contrast is completely off the screen isn't readable, making it hard to navigate menus. Just very hard to figure out the functionality without reading the manual.

It makes me wonder how many of us were asking 'I wonder if there is a software setting to adjust the contrast'? I know I had that thought at some point early on in the video.

You threw me for a minute there, couldn't figure out how I had missed this in the patreon cut. After re-watching the new ending, all became clear.
