Yes or No, should Dave have some lab tunes?

Sound like something from the past ? Interesting
Why would it fucking matter? the Livestream doesn't have audio, and he would turn the radio off if he is recording. Also how do you know he doesn't already have one?
A radio? No.
A clock with big hands that I can see on camera, is a good idea.
Hmm if we think about it....a HAM radio maybe... a lot of HAM radio addicts are really into electronics - also the more advanced aspects...so maybe
As far as something for entertainment while he's working, whatever he wants.
As far as something to complement the test equipment in the background of the videos, maybe, but it shouldn't be an ordinary radio. I'd suggest a general coverage communications receiver that supports at least AM, FM, and SSB across its full range. An Icom IC-R7000 perhaps, or maybe an old tube-type shortwave radio for the retro look. A handheld AM/FM scanner covering 30MHz to 1.2GHz or so combined with a shortwave radio doing AM and SSB from 500 kHz through 30MHz is a reasonable combination of radios that allows one to listen to a whole lot of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Combine a general coverage receiver with a DSO and it becomes easy to reverse engineer the protocols for all kinds of radio controlled devices.
When he did the teardown of the aviation ELT beacon a while ago, a receiver to listen to it would have been a nice touch.
Come on guys, the kid likes radios, be nice.
Cheers mate I was beginning to think I was the only one with a sense of optomisticness or whatever it is
Dave already mentioned in one of his videos he doesn't listen to the radio much. Mailbag I think delivered a Internet radio to look at and mentioned it there. I don't really listen to the radio while working either, it is distracting.
He did say that he would listen to Amp Hour in it.
I cant remember the exact episode but it wasn't that long ago.
Maybe this kind of radio? These were good old days.

Radio is dead i think....R.I.P. Now we have the internet...pod casts are still alive....dont know why really....i mean....video is invented
Don't you dear say that radio is dead!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't you dear say that radio is dead!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me it is...i cant stand hear people talk...they can do that when they are at home...so i cant hear the mother fuckers
Know what the solution is? Go to a charity shop and buy a cd player
Radio's not dead, alot of people still use it when driving cars.
Building radios is fun, future kids won't even know what this radio stuff is.
Man, i remember when this newspaper stuff was popular, nowadays i just use it to start my fireplace.....
i admit that radios can be handy out in the wilderness where there are no cell phone connection
Besides that radio is crap.....music sounds awfull in radio ( even in digital radio ) .... and i would rather see the man talking so i can see his body language than just hear him
Radio in cars ? well .... there is a large capacity on SD cards for hours of listening for (okay rather crappy quality) music.
Question is...will HAM radio die in the next 5 years? i mean you could talk on the internet to anybody in the world today
Yes or No, should Dave have some lab tunes?
More importantly, what would Dave be playing if he had a radio?
80s on 8 playing over here right now.
All we hear is radio gaga radio googol radio gaga... I have to put my Philco 444on when that song comes on because it is the actual one used in the video

I imagine it would be: "Something without copyright"

Feel free to put your
own radio on when you watch the videos.
