Hehehe... just showed some of these pics to my wife and I think she's feeling much better now about my own hoarding. She thanked me for "not being like that".
hahaha yeah.
And keep in mine, however bad it looks in the pics, Trust me. It's 5 times worse in person.

I'll be doing the same - but I don't think I will get a "Thank You". I'm expecting "the look" - which will mean to communicate something along the lines of "don't you dare".
Thank goodness it's Auckland.
Seriously though, what I see in those pictures is 99% trash.
The boxes of buttons, switches, and heatsinks, they would sell on trademe, the rest of it, scrap/dump, not worth the trouble.

A lot of the new/good stuff has already been taken.
Does Auckland have a makerspace or something similar even an amateur Radio group? At least if there is getting the chance to pick over the leftovers may help both sides? Or maybe even the owner gets some help to cleanup the mess working bee style for reward to the helpers?
Reminds me to keep some sort of a list here as to the division of spoils for my toy collection should I get hit by a Red Bus
I didn't notice anything that i recognised as being from surplustronics.
Buts it's possible.

Yes, there were some guys from local amature radio there today looking through all the vacuum tubes.
I really want to go there, if only I could get in touch with the guy clearing it out! I saw several things in the photos that I want.
I will try and get you his details
Damn damn
I would redo my testament before entering there, scary has hell, saw the pictures and the video, sure it has some good stuf there

Do you mind sending me his details too? I'd love to get in contact with him.
i see you're in USA
He's not going to ship anything for people.
He's way to busy for it, and it's not going to be worth his time.
Unless you know someone in Auckland/NZ?
might still worth $1/kg of metal scrapping.
hahaha yeah,
All the copper wire was already taken to the scrap yard, ~4 really large trailer loads worth of transformer wire spools.
Surely hey were aware it's very hard to put the smoke back into Electronics?
i wonder how much burnt RF transistor particles are in the smoke and now falling over Auckland.
