Hi All,
Looking for some (copper) pipe NTC, these look ok. But with long shipping times (~ 6 weeks). Not sure if this is worth it?
These go under the name "G12 G18 10K 50K Wall Mounted Tube Clamp Type NTC Temperature Sensor", but couldn't find any datasheet/info .
So anyone tried these? Any other simple NTC "snap-on" clips to keep track of pipes ?
Thanks!
You don't use these for controlling heaters, they fall off the pipe!
I think these are just for testing and temporary use. Good heat transfer assumes the metal face is right on the pipe. Industry uses a metal SS tie-wrap or hose clamp (for safety) with an encapsulated temperature probe to mount it. Iron in contact with copper does cause electrolysis and will corrode the pipe with age.
The pic shows B=3535 1% 10k@25C which is popular for somewhat lower water temps. I find the low cost chinese thermistors are not great for accuracy, quality varies a lot and they don't last long with their epoxy dip. A glass (diode) package thermistor has longer life, it depends on what temperatures they will see.

Aha, thanks! Always good to ask here
SO a SS tie-wrap (makes sense).
Tubes will be between ~ 0-100C, nothing fancy. Any ideas what NTC to use?
