I didn't like it tbh. I was disappointed there was no mention to knights era.
I also was didn't like the "Facebook" thing.
It surely was different.
Alexander.
It was just a small mistake that had big impact due to the country involved.

If it had been Austria & Australia nobody would have noticed
so far i am enjoying it quite a spectacle very British thats awesome
i dont however like its political message (queeny, army, governmental, religion) man, even china didn't go this far
then there is this
fine welcome to our neighbours in 2012 a police kettle
Kettling cyclists is really not sending a welcoming message to the world

Well, I predict more to come
Plus, have you
seen the logo and mascots? what a joke.
But I should point out, I like the olympics, but we really suck at putting big events on like this
You'll get so many opportunities to play the Oz anthem over the next few day that not only will you poms get it right, you'll even know all the words.
*snort*
I missed the opening, will watch the reply again today. Saw the closing part though, and I really liked the cauldron flower idea and how every country gets a piece of it after the games. Our cauldron is living out it's days rusting away as a fountain.
I wonder how many of the petals will end up in someones shed or on ebay?
Dave.
I liked the whole brunell thing. Still watching it now, we started late.
Well how the stadium. Probably one of the world's biggest LED matrices. Holy hell. We thought Dave's Xerox machine was crazy. This thing must have been insane to engineer, start to finish. Systems engineering for the win there.

I am so getting bored with LED being used this way. It has become cliché. I mean its all over the place, from wearables, to talent shows to whatever.
Also, I am inspired by the man but clearly the appearance of the legendary boxer was superfluous. His role in the torch lighting in Atlanta is one for the ages, but this one in London was a mere "token" cameo.
I wouldn't say it's superfluous. Are you not happy someone from our country was represented?

He touched the Olympic flag for like 2 seconds while being propped up. It all just seem eh to me on TV. Maybe it was more inspiring at the stadium.
Of course, having had mention of words from the A and B list, means that this website is now blocked in the UK........
The part after the parade was really good.

I went to a pub to watch it. What a load of bollocks. It was a poor attempt at patriotism which could only be achieved by harping quite far back into history as these days we are just a shambles. It then tried to show off anything vaguely British very pathetically and harped on about the worsed aspects of our life like how we can't cope without ducking facebook. Just gloryfying everything about today's British society that there is not to be proud of. By 10:15 we left very dissalusioned.
I rather think the queen was not in a good mood and was just being paraded around.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it.
It was appropriate in Atlanta, but had no place here at all.
Mr Bean was awesome as usual. I was hoping he'd drive a mini into the stadium.

I can't see what place that horrible abomination of a car had to do with the Olympics other than the fact that we make the damn things. Again it was all a political farce trying to show off what little manufacturing we have. If Mr Cameron spent less time in bed with the chinese doing trade agreements he would not have to make this sort of political use of the ceremony
they having sex (cross countries i believe, much fun) in olympic village. must be natural selection.
I liked most of it. Especially the LEDs around the stadium. £9.3bn well spent? Possibly not...
Except the Facebook thing. But at 11.30pm I hit the hay - very tired...
I expected the olympic rings (in the air) to be colorful. Apart from that it was a nice show.
