Whats the brand name on the microphone? That would probably be essential to searching for ready-made products.
What's the far end of the cable look like? Perhaps it's easier to add an extension at that end?
the microphone is unnamed
the microphone is a product called "cardo pack talk slim"
https://imgur.com/a/Jb4J74UI don't want to open/modify the cable that is connected to the unit as it's very small
No idea what it is, sorry, but can I ask that you upload the images with your message in future? There are two reasons for this:
1. A reader can see what you're asking about without having to trundle off elsewhere on the web (particular when that elsewhere might have another set of scripts to deal with).
2. Off-site images can go AWOL at the whim of the image host, so then these posts will be meaningless. Keep the images here and this thread might help someone in future.
That appears to be a proprietary/custom connector made for CardoSystems. Probably your only option is to contact CardoSystems to see if they have anything. Don't hold your breath.
But CardoSystems may discover that an extension cable is something that they should sell.
Else perhaps you can get an old broken set and make your own extension cable from recycled connectors from a dead set.
Or some desperate people search out compatible male and female pins (like pins from DB25 connectors?) and form their own male and female connectors by molding them from DIY plastic (like Sugru)
Or just bite the bullet and chop the cable and splice in a longer length.
Or, do you need to retain the ability to connect and disconnect? If not, dump the proprietary connectors and splice in a longer cable.
thanks for the responses

the image function did not work so i just posted the link but after looking into it it seems like I used the wrong link ...
but use that link in the feature

I do need to retain the option to connect/disconnect and splicing is not really an option as the cable is like 1 or 2 mm thick with 2 wires inside. I have trayed splicing small stuff before and it never turned out great due to the small size
If you can't obtain the original connectors, your other option is to pick a new connector pair to replace the existing connectors. Then making an extension cable becomes easy.

that's a good idea for a last resort
