This might be the first real large scale "take the money and run" indigogo scam. The campaign owners surely know that all their promises are utter fantasy.
Well, it was funded in April 2016 and was supposed to be shipped in October, so at this point there is no point in discussing, it is a scam.
Better save that campaign before it gets shut down!
It's a very nice take-down

Then why are they demoing it?
It's not going to work as advertised of course, but doesn't look like a take the money and run scam.
This is their "hardware schematic"
It looks like it has lost the ball, so now it is just a stand for a tablet
hehe, it looks like they just saw that video and did a cargo cult style copy for their project.
"Wouldn't it be amazing if it had a tablet on top and followed you around helping you..."
This might be the first real large scale "take the money and run" indigogo scam.
Perhaps that's why they named it "Goodbye".
I think those wheels would actually work, if they had motors:
So what happened at the Meet Aido event I hear you asking?
There is a reasonably objective review of this less than impressive event at
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0m5zwmrub9jbknk/I%20Met%20Aido.pdf?dl=0Summary of what they have got so far: a tablet stand with very bad voice recognition.
There is an official video which is so bad quality I'm not bothering to post the link. It's on youtube somewhere...
That report is hilarious.
Oh my god... this is current... I thought it's an old topic... just look at that "promo video" ugh...
If I'm running a CGI blooper youtube channel I'd have a field day and an hour long or even more just pointing out the CGI fakery that can be detected with the naked eyes...
I dread the future of humankind...
It's obviously a joke...but...why?
Just another case of a scam artist risking other peoples money on a hare brained idea that will never see the light of day !! Why doesn't indiegogo force people to have a fully working prototype before they publish these campaigns full of marketing wank ??
Wait...WHAT?!
I thought that was all there was. That is really an indegogo created to attack another indegogo?
I mean, I know they are attacking a scam but is that even allowed?

Because Indiegogo stand to make money, whether it is a fake or not. They have people in Indiegogo who work with project creators to promote and market the campaigns, put them in touch with glossy video producers, viral marketers, email spammers, etc. They might also have staff back projects and post warm messages, arrange special promotion like "staff picks", tie ups with vendors like Arrow. These people are like sales people, they get a bonus from campaign funding raised. Indiegogo are in the loop, they are part of the scheme. Check out the negative reviews on Glassdoor.
Basically, they do everything they can to help get a campaign funded, because they have a commercial incentive. Vetting a campaign to see if it is fake or stupid is absolutely the last thing on their minds. Of course, if they do reject campaigns, then they have less campaigns to make money from so are likely to market the remaining one more aggressively.
