I am always wondering...
Why some folk in perfect mental health is still wasting time on this crap shit OS...
Sometimes you just don’t have a choice. Most of the time I can contain it to a VM, but sometimes (like today when I needed to upgrade firmware on nvme ssds where the manufacturer only provides windows tools), you need it on the metal.
I admire your ignorant advocacy. I was like you for years, but as I grew through industry I increasingly faced software, tools or systems that would only interoperate with windows. I learned to work around most of it, but I also learned that sometimes it’s a necessary evil and slighting people who used it (for whatever reason) was counterproductive.
weeeeellll .. not as simple as that...
Foremost .. I am not
advocating a single bit...
I have made myself bad purchase decision choices.. it just happens htat:
- Over the 80s we had no choices at all - all gizmos were very closed AND no choices.
- Over the 90s things got worst .. by chance .. DOS became a popular tool..
- several reasons even being a crappy segfault mania DOS leverage a business
- needless to say such business made a fortune - we all know:
defective by design model
- a fast pace plethora of gizmos full of bugs even though you had some
tools to work with
- But then.. WOAH..! then over the 00s a LOT of clever folks sick with that
defective by design and
certified only works with... business got to the point to manage ALTERNATIVES.
So... sooooooooooooo since the 00s.. 2010s .. making bad purchase decisions became possibly avoided...
You just made a bad purchase decision - got stuck with a product that is defective by design and only works with... I made that couple of times..
And last... not least... THE
upgraded buz model cited above was leveraged by so called CLOUD now to the present 2020s.
We all know that CLOUD is someone's else RACK... indeed..
I got last month some devices that just require CLOUD to work.. they do not even configure without it..
after 2 days of failures I just flushed them in the latrine...
UC even alternatives are now compromised..
but i am doing more research to
NOT purchase SHITTY gizmos...
