Hi
I'm looking for a little advice ref cloning a SBC.
The device controls a cryo unit used in NMR.
I purchased a new SBC and uploaded a bios file to it to replicate the original.
This was installed and works fine apart from it was an earlier version so is missing some functions.
This one photographed is the original with the updated software.
I'd like to clone this and then update the software to the SBC now installed on our cryo bay.
I'm fairly new to this and looking for advice on where to start.
Many thanks
It looks like the SBC uses a parallel flash device. If you can hold the CPU in Hi-z Mode (reset usually does that), you can interface with the address/data bus and read the flash. Otherwise, you will have to take the flash out and read it in a programmer, hoping you didn't break anything.
I don’t see any parallel flash there yet. Both ISSI and Cypress parts are SRAMs.
Could you post a better CPU (the one with rabbit logo. Is it a Rabbit 3000?) photo to see the marking?
Thanks for the assistance.
Photo attached.
Yes 3000 by the looks of it
I actually found details of this cloning board.
Seems like it would be perfect for the job.
Unfortunately it's no longer available.
