Can anyone tell me what this connector is? And if it is no longer available, is there a good substitute? A friend was reinstalling this board after I repaired it, and snapped the connector. I have a feeling CA glue would probably not be sufficiently strong.
It is an 11 pin connector, .100( or very close) pitch for one of those flexible flat plastic cables. I believe it is the connector for a small keyboard. The board has a 1979 production date on it. The connector is marked Molex on one end and 4850 on the other. I thought it would be very obvious to find, but I have not found any pictures or references to a connector like this. Even if it is completely obsolete, I would expect at least a few pictures. Somebody please tell me what I'm missing?
Thanks
Ed
Unfortunately the state of search engines these days means only the newest and most popular things can be found easily.
If it says Molex, you could try asking them.
Nonetheless a 0.1" pitch 11-position FFC connector is not exactly a rare part.
No other identifying marks on it? What fits into it?
