For you Radar aficionados, an interesting Application Note from Anritsu on using a microwave VNA to measure radar cross section parameter of objects:

A metal sphere with a known cross section is used as a reference standard. Also time gating feature of the VNA is used to cut off clutter. It is fun to read the article if you understand VNAs and a little bit of Radar.
