i'm stumped at the point of getting the numerical data received from ET5410 to plot (i.e. Volts vs. Amp-hours) on their canned chart, aka "Figure", have you had any success?
You can do that with TestController:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/program-that-can-log-from-many-multimeters/If the load do not rapport Ah or Wh it can be easily calculated in TestController and used for graphing.
The interface may look more simple than the program supplied with the load, but it has much more functionality and will work with any supported load.
If you really get into TestController it can do stuff like below automatically (It is a charge curve, i.e. it is done with a power supply, not a load):

Hello, wow, that looks like a very powerful and widely applicable program! Big picture question at the moment though, how many hours/days do you think it will take for someone who just looked at the program and documentation today to get a reasonable Battery discharge curve (prefer Volts vs. Amp-hours)? I have only rudimentary programming skills, learning the scripting language seems daunting. I have an immediate need, have purchased a LiFeP04 battery that claims to be 36Amp-hours, but first battery test with ET540 at 0.1C shows ~30AH, needing to quickly get those results better documented to convince seller to replace or refund.
It's a Win11 pro, but I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong, or it's not working fully..as the only thing I'm able to be more or less initialize it, and then I can turn on the load and turn off the load with the PC sw. by clicking down at the left bottom corner (with these 3 bars.. PC, Remote, CH1 on/off.) and jump between the different modes.
I don't seem to be able to put any values onto the device..if I hit that numerical numbers and hit enter or turn that dial.. it simply does not resonate with the device, even though they clearly are connected but could be something as simple as a setting I'm lacking.
I plugged in a USB3 cable. and choose the same 115200 baud as I recall were present from scratch on the unit.
Could be something fundamental / obvious, I am missing as a novice - or perhaps it's down to win11pro or I need to run it in some combability-mode or maybe there is a basic feature I haven't activated on the unit-
I just installed the LOAD.rar, which installed a bunch of scary NI-VISA stuff. No NI stuff on my Windows10 PC before this. I'm able to immediately update ET5410 current setting by either the (eccentric) knob or the 10 digit entry. Setting updates after "enter" with 10digit and immediately with knob. I havent found any effect of the lower left switches Local/Remote/PC, except that some combos don't allow usage of ET5410 controls.
FYI, link to Video of ET5410 and PC screens while changing current settings in CC mode...(hopefully link works, how are you embedding mp4 files in your post?)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1--QffWxmANQ0icvfqkUkX05nT-Jefmet/view?usp=sharingSo at this point for me with vendor's "LOAD" software: 1. control of ET5410 from PC is working, 2. rudimentary feedback from ET5410 so LOAD software showing Volts and Amps on the main window, 3. NOTHING working on the "Figure" window, which includes datalogging, exporting, plotting.

It do not require any training or anything else to use TestController for discharging a battery (Use Popup Log Event), but controlling it from a script and formatting a chart with annotations do require some smarts. Note: TestController can generate scripts for a lot of stuff, but the example I showed requires some understanding of programming to setup TestController to do it automatically.
You can do a lot of stuff from the popups, but if you want to do it automatically it requires a script. This is only relevant if your want to do the same test multiple times on different devices (Here batteries).

Hi, I gave up on East Tester Control/datalogging software, I don't think datalogging is working at all. So, finally started looking at your TestController software, instead. Stopped in my tracks not knowing how Java differs from JDK. Posted today on the Test Controller forum
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/program-that-can-log-from-many-multimeters/
Update after a long hiatus, Test Controller app worked great to manage and record East Tester ET5410 to measure Lithium Ion battery capacity. Pls see attached .png of Chart Current, Voltage and Capacity.
All done without script writing, i.e. using Pop-ups.
Thanks to HKJ for the work!
ET5410 is now out with much-improved firmware, more battery-related stuff, and more test modes.
Did anyone have luck finding this firmware?
The 5410 is superseded by the 5410A+.
I bought that one. Unfortenly it does not work with Testcontroller, as the crappy Chinese sellers
seems to have changed something with the ID. This is a constant problem with cheap, Chinese
stuff - they seem to dont care about Firmware or software (or customer support at all).

That may be an easy fix, but somebody with the device has to do it.
Note: I am a bit limited with inet access at the moment.
I tried...But I did not understand how to know what my units ID was...

With SCPI devices TC will list it in the log window.
This is what I get from the Log-Window:
;; USB Serial (COM7) Device ET5420 do not match: ET5410A+,V1.00.2213.017,09702250006,V1.00.2213.017
(I know that the communication at com7 works because it will talk to their own program, but that is so full of bugs so its not useful)
I have now edited the IDstring and have sucess in connecting my load!
It appears they have changed the Bug that the ET5410A+ was reporting itself as ET5420.
I do however think there can be some more minor things to correct.

Using the #meta & #metadef tags it is possible to support both loads.
Dear all,
Sorry if i'm not totally on the right subject. I tried to remotely control ET5410A+, all command works except if i want to do the same as "ON" key ? when i send CURR:CC 3 it appears on the screen but cannot find command to do "ON".
If anyone know how to do...
Thanks
After contacting East Tester support, i am having an email exchange,
they sent me the "Programming manual" SCPI and the their software and try to use it.
Hi! Can I have the programming manual and the software please?
I had ET5410 - now thinking about ET5410+ ... or DLB-600W
ET5410 worked with my own python automation. (the UI of 5410 is ... less impressive)
the DLB-600W is basically four of those cheap 150W loads in a box, with even worse software/GUI - and I doubt the protocol is documented.
with DLB-600W it seems one is stuck with the awful interface.
Did anyone see any open projects with software for any of those sevices?
(I am aware of TestController, but the java GUI mess is cringeworthy as ever.)
I have a ET5420 with a USB interface on the back - and so far trying to communicate to it has been a failure. I have 2 types of USB to DB9 converters - both work on my linux PC using a terminal program and shorting TX/RX together. One of these converters apprently does not work on the 5420 - I have no voltage on TXD - the other converter I do - so I'm using that one to connect to the 5420. I'm using a DB9 to DB9 "null modem" - since I'm connecting a DTE to a DTE - and also a gender changer. So far zippo. I tried using East Tester software (using a Window VM in Virtualbox running on a host linux system) - the java based Test controller via linux - an async terminal program (linux) - I can't seem to get an response from the 5420. As I mentioned one USB to DB9 converter definately did not work - the other one seemed to work (at least I had an RS232 signal on TXD when I connected). Does anyone have a USB to DB9 vendor specific dongle that they have successfully used? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks...
EDIT: I think there may be some issue with the VCC/Grn power on the USB interface. From pin 1 and 4 Ion the USB interface should see (from what I read) 5VDC - I see 2.6VDC. I traced the connections back to the PCB mounted on the front - and it also shows 2.6VDC on the connectors. At this point in time unless someone has any suggestions I'm stuck. What would be really nice if they still had a RS232 interface on the board somewhere - there is a DB9 cutout on the back of the case that would be easy to wire up. Anyway comments/ suggestions would be appreciate - otherwise I'll mark this science project incomplete but done :-)
2nd Edit: OK....so there is a RS232 interface chip on the front PCB board...I connected TXD/RXD/Grd from that chip to a DB9 interface - and I can at least (partially) able to communicate to the 5420. On the Test Controller software this is the message I get:
Physical Port S0 (ttyS0) Device ET5420 do not match: ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ,V1.02.2127.002,09422132071,V1.03.2136.003
It's able to pull the software version from the unit. Any suggestions where to go from here?
Edit 3: I modified the Device file so that the idString now has ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ and I can get by that error message. On my until - in the SYS INFO area - the PRODUCT MODEL field is blank - the software/hardware versions are there - and that info was able to be pulled. I just verified that the native program from East Tester also now works (under a Virtualbox VM)...
Hello, I have ET5410A+ version V1.00.2213.014 I need a new version, I copied my version

It seems it gives an error "000execution error, possible cause: load is on". (which it ain't if it's referring to the red active load-dot)
It works fine choosing the different mode-settings, and the ET5410 display adjusts accordingly, but actually dialing in a given value by the 1-9 number + enter or using the big dial in the center' or some of the shortcuts ... it won't adjust to these values... I have tried to run the program in win7 combability and with admin rights.(it made no difference).
Hello, I have exactly the same problem. Have you been able to find any missing settings by now?
I would be very grateful for any information!
Thanks and regards
