SDS2000 and 3000?
Strange birds. Evolution proceeds?
Wow .. I didn't know birds in Finland look like that ! Don't they even have wings ? ...j/k
Thanks for the info rf-loop, pretty sure that is not sub $500 bird isn't it ?
Looks nice, 4 channel, maybe even LA or function gen option? Proper intensity grading. Old school LeCroy color scheme.
I am interested. Can you get a sample for a sneak preview
Not surprising about the colour scheme as some of the LeCroys are Siglents.
Not a single peep on google .... :-)
There are some pictures on the Siglent web, marketing news section. It seems that they are showing them of at major fairs.
Unfortunately, none of the promo pictures gives any further details, apart from what looks like auto probe interface on 3000 series.

Not really. They look very much like the way the Japanese design their scopes. They make the case high and narrow so you have more room on your test bench.
The inputs seem to have lost their way on the front panel...

Looks like they are right under the display.

Yeah, quite unusual to have them under the screen, and nowhere near the vertical controls
The SDS3000 looks to be equivalent in height to the Agilent 4000 series that doesn't fit on your average shelf.
At least there isn't the liberal splash of pastels as is the trend these days. I see a little on the vertical controls and I guess some on the connectors but less than on some Chinese "toy-like" scopes.
What was the reasoning for not having them near their controls? even to the left or right. Under the display makes no sense.
Oh, these are weird. Well, LCDs and CPUs are cheap these days. The 1996 is far away, it's time to stop using those QVGA 240×320 displays. And in 20 years we will have 12-bit ADC scopes as standard, I hope!
Another teaser leaked from Siglent for the new 3000 series, here is what I managed to read from this marketing photo:
* max 1 GHz bandwith
* 4 GS/s sampling rate
* 20 Mpoint memory
* 300 000 wf/s update rate !
Siglent - the new 3000 series
I wonder if it will be sold under the
LeCroy brand, like the
WaveAce series.
Siglent looks like it's coming out with interesting gear. Too bad you can't get it in the US easily. Ah well, we can't have everything here!
These new scopes are not even sold in Europe.
Siglent should send one scope to Dave.
The crux will be support and firmware
My main complaint with the SDS1000 series is the crappy screen and the slow UI ... if they've fixed that, and maybe start properly testing the scopes before they send them out the factory, it might be worth waiting for instead of getting a Rigol DS2000 series.
Nothing on ebay so far...
