I would like to get hold of a nice IBM or similar magnetic core memory module, does anyone have one they would be willing to sell, or know of a good source? I know there is plenty of Russian stuff on ebay, but I prefer something from one of the pioneer manufacturers.
I have one for sale on the auction site, ending Sunday evening. Item 233479311381.
It's a DEC H213, 4K X 16.

If that auction site is ebay that item number isn't valid?
It works for me. The starting bid is $50.

Make sure to search ebay.com, not ebay.co.uk

There's piles of core memory on E-bay (US). Much of it is stupidly priced but some of it isn't overly expensive. The board that is at the auction number listed is nice. It's from a well known computer company (DEC) and has a clear cover over it so you can actually see the cores, unlike on some boards.
No result on ebay.com either! And virtually all the core memory on there is from Russia or Ukraine. Is there some sort of location restriction going on?!
Here's a direct link to it:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/233479311381?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649I have non-U.S. bidding blocked, so perhaps that's why you can't even see the listing?
You may want to ask "Why not allow foreign bidders?". It's certainly nothing 'personal', but the extra effort and frustration is simply not worth it for me. If you really want to know, I can share my latest "tale of woe", but it really doesn't matter.
It currently has 63 views and 5 watchers and 1 bid, so I think it will do fine, without any extra hassles on my side.
Suggestion: Get a friend in the U.S. to buy it for you, and forward it to you.
Pete
Thanks, I can see it now. The US only restriction would be the reason I couldn't see it previously.
I don't have any contacts in the US so it's a no go for me.
I found this module. Pls pm me if you want it.
I just dug this up from the cupboard. It's Australian made, and vintage 2017 or so

I can't read the chip clearly, but it looks like the TI logo,
and I heard TI made a pulse sensor for the detect part of the circuit.

They look like SN1400N/SN1401N/SN1402N. Datecodes of 70xx i.e. 1970. Some have TI and some have Motorola logos. There's an interesting discussion here about whether SN14xx are actually 74xx series, which seems unlikely in that example:

I never found out how to identify the pulse sense chip unfortunately,
but was hoping to find one.
More than one person who worked with them told me there was a TI chip for the purpose though.
