Methane released from the farm is worse than carbon dioxide, because it absorbs more infrared and causes more warming. In other words, growing things and allowing them to rot, or be eaten by animals which produce methane, is worse than not doing so and leaving the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Well, if the carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere, there will be no plants, and all life will die. Problem solved...... I can't help but think there is a flaw in your argument. Something about cycles.
No. It makes perfect sense.

Plants take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, which is nice, unless you feed them to animals, which then convert it to methane, which produces 28 times as much warming as carbon dioxide.
Then the carbon dioxide gets taken back out of the air by plants, and feeds more animals. What part of the natural cycle do you not grasp? Its only the carbon we dig up from deep down and pump into the atmosphere which alters things, as that wasn't a part of short to medium term cycle. Obviously its a part of the long term cycle, as fossil fuels are ancient life.
What part of methane absorbs much more IR and causes more warming than carbon dioxide do you not understand?

I don't think people realize how much of a technological jump solid state batteries are.
And you base this on extensive experience of how well they work out?  ;)
The technology was already developed years ago, only production takes time to adopt.
It's extremely easy to understand why.

Can someone please post a TL/DR summary for me?  I've not previously watched T'foot's videos, but thought I would give it a fair shake.  I gave up.  Does he ever get to the actual point?

I don't understand why people complain about ads on Youtube. Youtube Premium is by far the best value video service subscription I have.

That's his style. He repeats a ton of stuff that's in previous videos, just in case you haven't watched them, and often tangents into things unrelated to the title. So if the video title is about Starship, then expect tangent rants on Hyperloop, Las Vegas Loop, Solar Roof Tiles, Tesla FSD, and even Theranos.
In the first 30 second he says that "even Musk admits that Starship is a failure". I'm not sure at what point in the video he actually gets around to showing where Musk said that?

Watching his videos is like eating (recycling) the same piece of food for the 3rd time.
EDIT: BTW it wasn't like that before he caught EDS. It still was somewhat of a condescending rambling but he wasn't recycling the same shit to no end with adding 5-10% of something new.

Well, on the first pass it's still fresh...
But I think I won't be coming back for more.

I personally know people who addictively consume similar content about local politics, so I suppose there is a market for this everywhere.

And hell, he may even be invested in it personally. It's like audiophool vendors - the most successful ones believe in the BS themselves because they have "heard" it.

With 1M+ subscribers and hundreds of thousands of views per video, I think anyone will start believing in their own BS. You may even start believing in Santa and pink unicorns.

An addblocker is still quite effective. If Youtube refuses to play videos because of the addblocker, all it takes is throwing out the cookies (which I don't mind as they aren't the kind with chocolate on them). The few videos I watch (mostly about tooling or how to fix something) typically contains some form of sponsored content.

Don't underestimate the motivational power of the dollar. I don't think there is any correlation between making money from peddling BS and believing it yourself. Look at the revelations that come out in the dominion voting systems case with Fox news. Several high profile on-air presenters had sent emails clearly showing they didn't believe what they were saying on air. Any snake-oil salesman just needs to know how to persuade the gullible buyer.

It puts people in quite a difficult position when their fanbase organically evolves to head down one path when it's opposite to the path the person themselves wants.

It's easy to end up in the situation where if you say what you actually think you lose your monthly income.

I'm not saying this is or isn't the case with Thunderf00t just that it's probably an easy trap to fall into and there isn't an easy way out if you need the income.

I mean if you ever take up side labor near election time its obvious how it works, they basically tell you that you are acting as a human loud speaker. You might get a bonus if you know the topics but its basically mercenary work! Usually well paid (like $25+ an hour for repeating, they only care if you have a accent, 15 years ago).  The amount of people they need to get to basically dictates they need employees to act as spokes people. Its working as a mobile information kiosk. Granted the position exists for like 2 weeks. That's street level for temps. I have a feeling depending on time of year every single echelon gets this (with stricter qualifications as you move up). Political allegiance not required. They develop a payload and you deliver it. Communications skills, getting through to people. Thats it. The people that develop the message are a whole nother animal (the politicians). But the spokes people not holding office is all mercs!! They check up on you to make sure you sound believable/respectable. It's like working as a audio-delivery man, instead of throwing news papers you throw words. If you start arguing with them, they just say its the most 'fresh' information, that is they get briefed thoroughly and regularly. It's like someone saying the fish you bought is gonna smell and you should buy their fresh fish. Can we count on your vote sir? Usually they are compelling because they tell you specifically how the area you are in got abandoned/neglected/screwed by the opposition, and with the amount of time you have left after you hear it before the polls, good luck finding out the counter argument. It ends up being super regional telling you how your neighborhood can improve or start sucking or how your job is gonna get screwed up . At least thats what they will go for the most if they have that compelling information. For the most direct level, they also value your skills at evaluating someones tenancies, because they are told to focus on people that will likely talk to other people. They often recruit in universities on the street near good looking main buildings lol

Yeah, he definitely does enjoy it.

I'm just not sure if he truly thinks all his videos are a positive thing for society, Or if he thinks he's going too far and causing some harm but doesn't care because 'money'.

Not that I have any right to know what he truly thinks, just curious  :-\
Most people see themselves as the hero of their own story, but there's also people who know they are doing wrong but don't care because it benefits them.  I've flip flopped back and forward a few times on this question about Thunderf00t lately.

It sounds like Atheism became a religion... So walking away is the only right thing to do for a true atheist.

Atheism is simply to not believe in the existence of supernatural deities or gods. How did TF walk away from not believing there are gods without believing there are gods?  I can't see it is possible therefore Atheism is not a religion.

There might be a fallacy in there somewhere.

But if you want to get deep into fallacious thinking and broken logic you should watch Coffee with Scott Adams on YT.  But I'm not mean spirited enough to put a link in here. I watched over half of 3 or four episodes back when he was in the news for Dilbert getting dropped by newspapers. I sampled about 12 minutes of a recent episode and his concession that eventually 98% of cars will be electric wasn't favoured by the livestream commenters and he moved on to climate change and oceans emitting Sulphur counteracting  global warming and the failure of science to develop climate models without significant errors and trump lying but not as much as the Dems and so on. All that in 12 minutes or so. Why he isn't more popular is a mystery.

To me a religion is a large enough (organised) group of people with the same mindset dead set on being right and better than others. To the point believing in some deity or not doesn't even matter.
